     According to The Bible Dictionary, the view of Scripture towards women, and mothers in particular, is very clear. In scripture, women are considered on the same plane as men, and due the same respect. The matriarchs have an equal voice in society in scripture. God commands us not only to honor our fathers, but to extend the same level of honor to our mothers. Scripture notes that the greatest duty of sons is to love, honor and obey their mothers. There are many religions around the world that do not have this same regard for women and mothers.      From the beginning, after God created man, He took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden: "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden  thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in that day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."       We have long been identified as a "Word" church. One prophet said that Everlasting Covenant is "the church where they teach the Word, preach the Word, and dance the Word." The Word of God is essential to a believer's life, but knowing the Word is also essential in teaching others who will teach others the truth of God. Endless arguments over other things that will not edify are fruitless. Paul wrote to his son in the Gospel, Timothy: "...strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:14-15). This means to teach the Word of God directly and correctly. Many churches barely teach the Old Testament, for example, but the Old Testament is the foundation of our faith. Our choices have consequences. Some of those consequences are immediate, and some come later, but they will come. A choice made in the beginning of man brought consequences to all of mankind. After Eve and Adam had eaten from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, from which God had forbidden them to eat, their whole perception changed. Their relationship with God changed, and other consequences followed their choice: "And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden."
