Fools and the Heart for God*

As Paul sat imprisoned in Rome awaiting execution for his faith in Jesus Christ, He wrote this to the believers of Rome: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live buy faith." (Rom. 1:16-17). This is also our founding scripture for this ministry, and this is the power of salvation through faith in Christ. Paul also wrote to Titus: "But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine." (Titus 2:1). Speak the saving truth.      Paul continued on to write of those who refuse to see the hand of the Creator God that has been revealed to them: "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by...

Redeeming the Time: Heaven to Gain and Hell to Shun*

Paul referred in part to the prophet Isaiah when writing: "...Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." (Eph. 5:14-17). This is an incredible truth but people miss it: "Wake up!" We are to walk in wisdom, with which God freely equips the church, and by which we redeem the time in the middle of evil days.     Paul wrote to the church at Thessalonica that we are expected to know the times and the seasons of the return of Christ although the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. Just when men think they have achieved peace and safety, sudden destruction will come without escape. However, we are not to be like them as they are children of darkness. We are children of light and day: "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober...But let us, who are of the day, be sobe...

The Heart of the Matter*

The Church seems to be seeking to treat the symptoms of troubling issues, rather than the root causes. We need to know the root causes if we are to treat and heal. One of the greatest examples of this is the fact that believers are placing their trust in men and politics, rather than God, but the Word of God says: "It is better to put trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man...than to put confidence in princes...The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly....The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Ps. 118:8-9, 14-15, 22-24). The cornerstone of the house of worship is not popular music or worldly ways; it is not the tolerance of sin in ...

Where Are the Prophets?*

We see the Word of God scorned on social media, and hateful comments coming against Israel and the Jewish people. During this dangerous time of warfare in the Middle East, where are the prophets of God? There's an account of a wise king, preparing to go into battle as an ally with another king, and asking that question. He was not satisfied until a true prophet of God was found and enquired of. The prophet Amos warned us of a time when the guiding prophetic Word would be lacking: "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it." (Amos 8:11-12). This is true today. There are seminars for the church on how to prosper, while the signs of the times are ignored, and no one is asking, "What is God saying...
