In the Coming Days*

The signs of the times are all around us and it is time for the Bride to trim her lamps and be ready for the return of the Bridegroom.       The prophet Daniel was given to see in the Spirit through dreams and visions certain kingdoms of the earth that would rise up, which Daniel called "beasts" because they appeared to him in that spiritual form. The fourth beast that he saw had ten horns, and he called it "dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong, with great iron teeth with which it devoured and broke in pieces. Daniel saw that this terrible beast would be slain and his body given over to the burning flame. ( Dan. 7:7 , 11 ).  Daniel also saw the Kingdom of heaven: "...and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, ...

Coming Deception*

In discussing the dangers and tribulation connected to the end of the age and His return, Jesus also warned His disciples not to be deceived: "Take heed that no (man) deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." (Mt. 24:3-5, see also Mk. 13:5 ). Jesus then described the events that would come upon the earth and added: "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (v. 21-22). Then He spoke again regarding deception: "Then if any (man) shall say unto you, Lo, here (is) the Christ, or there; believe (it) not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if (it were) possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you bef...

A "Show Me" Saint*

Missouri is known as "The Show Me State", because one of its Congressional representatives, when faced with a political argument of dubious facts, stated, "You're going to have to show me!" Certain events of this week, both of the world and the church, including those who refer to themselves as prophets, involved the issuing of statements that seem dubious, but are being accepted as truth. I respond to these statements by saying, " Show me that in the Word of God!" Last week, I encouraged all to become "Bereans", those who searched the scriptures for themselves, looking for confirming truth regarding what Paul was teaching them. We need to know what the Word of God says, especially in these times in which we are living. Paul wrote: "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their ow...

Sound Doctrine*

The things coming out of the church world recently have been very concerning. Many comments made on Social Media reflect a lack of knowledge of scripture, and reflect doctrines that are men's doctrines rather than God's. There is a command in scripture to get wisdom and understanding, and to pursue good doctrine : "Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine , forsake you not my law...He (my father) taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live . Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding." (Prov. 4:1-7). The doctrines of God come from the Word of God. However, our culture wants to dictate what everyone should believe: in a one-wo...
