            Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is one of the fall feasts commanded by the LORD. Jesus fulfilled the spring feasts with His first coming, and He will fulfill the fall feasts with His return. Jesus fulfilled the Day of Atonement, which reconciles man with God, by the sacrifice of His blood that covers sins. Traditionally, the wearing of white garments (the garments of righteousness) is observed on the Day of Atonement by the Jewish people.       This is the commandment of God concerning the Day of Atonement: "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.       The central truth of Christianity is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Many now however are turning away from belief in that truth, even some in the Church. Even ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptians believed in a kind of life after death. Things are crashing in on us, and the signs of the end times are all around, but as in the days of Noah, people are going about life as usual, not considering the things that will soon occur. However, we will see an example in scripture of what we are to be in these times - like David, whom God called "a man after My own heart" (Acts 13:16-22). In prophecy, the LORD talks about how all of the nations will gather around and against Judah and Jerusalem: "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it."
