The Last Days and the Day of the LORD*

A time of trouble is coming to the earth in the last days that has never been seen before. The LORD said to Daniel: "...and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (Dan. 12:1-4). "Knowledge" written in the Hebrew pictographic letters daleth, ayin and tav can have the meaning "Behold the door to the cross". Jesus is the door to knowledge. Daniel also mentioned above the re...

My Apostolic Journey as a Shepherd Pt. 2*

This message is a continuation of the message from last week. As we read at that time, scripture says, "Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will scatter." The prophet Zechariah wrote: "Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd . Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle." (Zech. 10:1-3).      As we look at the verses above, the LORD, speaking of "the latter rain", is speaking of the last days, and He finds that His flock, His people, are without a shepherd. The LORD had a purpose for a ...

My Apostolic Shepherd's Journey*

SCRIPTURAL AND PERSONAL REFLECTIONS FROM DR. KENNETH STEVENSON, JR.     Although some do not believe that the apostolic calling exists today, the scriptures teach otherwise. Paul wrote about the specific calling of the apostle as well as the other callings within the one Body of Christ, which is called by one Spirit, one Lord, one hope, one faith, one baptism and "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ...And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ...speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, whi...

God's Standard of Righteousness*

Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God with great authority as He taught the Beatitudes, the Lord's Prayer and the Golden Rule. He taught that with the Kingdom of God comes the righteousness of God. Jesus told His listeners not to be worried about what they will eat, drink or wear. If God provides glory for the flowers and food for the birds of the earth, how much more will He care for you? "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek): for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need for all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for these things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Mt. 6:25-34, excerpt).      Do not be conformed to this world but be tran...
