Delay No Longer*

At the end of the Feast of Tabernacles, there is a day called Simchat Torah, or "Rejoice in the Torah". Some might wonder how Israel can celebrate and rejoice in the Torah on the anniversary of a deadly terrorist attack against their nation. Since that day of attack, many people have been killed in warfare. However, despite circumstances, we can rejoice and take heed in the prophetic warnings, promises and fulfilments that we see in the Word of God.         The prophet Zechariah wrote the word of the LORD concerning the nations that would surround Judah and Jerusalem seeking their destruction. However, the LORD promises that all of the nations that come against Judah and Jerusalem will be cut in pieces against that stone. (Zech 12:1-3). We are seeing the nations turn against Israel and Jerusalem now, including proclamations issued against Israel by the United Nations.      As we see these prophecies coming to pass, and the worl...

Tabernacles Forever*

This message comes during the Feast of Tabernacles. Many in the Church are not taught the feasts of the LORD, and many believe that the Feasts are only part of the Jewish faith, and not for Christians. However, this is not true. Jesus not only observed the feasts but fulfilled the spring feasts with His first coming and will fulfill the fall feasts with His second coming. The believers of the Christian faith are branches that have been grafted into the root of Judaism, as Apostle Paul wrote. Surely this makes the feasts something the Church should not only study but understand their importance to our walk of faith. The Feast of Tabernacles also includes the traditional practice of the outpouring of water and is also associated with great candelabras of light as we will read. There will also be a link at the end of this post to a blog with further information about this.      The LORD commanded the Feast of Tabernacles in His Word: "And the LORD spake ...

Yom Kippur, the Holiest Day*

Image
Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is one of the fall feasts commanded by the LORD. Jesus fulfilled the spring feasts with His first coming, and He will fulfill the fall feasts with His return. Jesus fulfilled the Day of Atonement, which reconciles man with God, by the sacrifice of His blood that covers sins. Traditionally, the wearing of white garments (the garments of righteousness) is observed on the Day of Atonement by the Jewish people.       This is the commandment of God concerning the Day of Atonement: "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be affli...

The Importance of Truth in Our Time - A Spiritual Op-Ed

Written by Dr. Kenneth E. Stevenson, Jr.  October, 2024:      Because the signs of the times increasingly point to the end of the “age”, the “truth” is absolutely essential for our lives. But with every media pundit regardless of “stripe” quick to call the “other side” liars, how does anyone know whose report to believe? Furthermore, there is a real danger of deception even when someone is an eye witness. The Apostle Paul warns us of a BIG lie ahead:  2 Thessalonians 2:7-11 (KJV): 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of th...

As It Was In The Days*

We are in the days of the fall Feasts of the LORD. Most of the Church is never taught about the feasts, even though the first coming of Christ and His sacrifice as the Lamb of God and the Firstfruits of the resurrection fulfills the spring feasts, and the second coming of Christ, the rapture of the Church and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb are reflected prophetically in the fall feasts. The Church continues on being what we are rather than what we are supposed to be.      In Ecclesiastes 1:9-10, Solomon wrote of how the past things are tied to the future things: "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun..." The things shown in the past in scripture are also prophecies of the things to come, but are we heeding them? Jeremiah the prophet spoke to the people of Judah, saying, "And the LORD has sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early ...

Living Shofars*

In a few days, the Feast of Trumpets will occur. In Hebrew it is called Yom Teruah , "A Day of Blasts."      This feast is one of the feasts of the LORD given to Israel in Leviticus 23: "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD." (v. 23-25).      This feast is also called "The Day of the Wake-Up Trumpet", reminding us of the parable which Jesus taught of the ten virgins, five of whom were wise, and five who were foolish. All of the virgins slept, however, and had to be awoken by a shout. Only the five wise virgins had enough oil in their lamps to go out and meet the arriving Bridegroom.       The three themes of the shofar blasts are: 1) The crowning of...
