Myths, Lies and Grown-Up Fairy Tales*
Do we have any idea how many myths, lies, and fairy tales we have come to accept as truth? We will see that the increase of these things is also a sign of the end times according to scripture. Paul wrote to his protege, Timothy, whom Paul had placed in leadership over the Ephesian church: "...Preach the word; be instant in season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." (2 Tim. 1-5). Paul was writing about believers turning away from truth and preferring fables instead because the fables please their flesh.
