Manifest His Glory by His Spirit in You*

"Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain." Psalm 104:1-2       Last week we talked about having a Spirit life in these last days. This week we will continue to learn more about this. In art, saints were depicted as having halos. This had to do with a supernatural light that is connected with believers in Christ. As the prophet Daniel wrote the Word of the LORD pertaining to "the time of the end", He said: "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book . And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlas...

Spirit Life in these Last Days*

We are seeing an increase of lawlessness and corruption in these last days. The purpose of the "five-fold" ministry gifts to the church according to Eph. 4 is to equip the saints to be built up and unified in Christ. The church or Ekklesia , is defined as the called-out assembly of God's people, but there is no evidence that the church is practicing 2 Chron. 7:14 and seeking God's face in repentance. The church is turning instead to the things of the world. Does the church understand what it means to lead a Holy Spirit filled life?      Man's life began with the breath, or Spirit, of God: "And the LORD formed ( aleph-tav /Alpha and Omega in Greek, the reference to Christ in Rev. 1:8 , Rev. 21:6 , Rev. 22:13 ), man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul ( nefesh in Hebrew)." (Gen. 2:7). In Genesis, from the very beginning, the LORD who created all is written in Hebrew as Elohim ale...

The Super Bowl and Matthew Parties*

The hype over the Super Bowl has come to a fever pitch.  The tickets to the Super Bowl are said to start at $6,ooo and go up to $10,000, and are expected to become even more expensive as the event draws near.  This Super Bowl is taking place in Las Vegas, or "Sin City", perhaps being a good reminder that the Church needs to repent even more than the heathens! (see 2 Chron. 7:14 ). The quarterbacks of both teams are Christians and say so publicly. As the event draws near, one pastor made the suggestion that believers use Super Bowl parties and get-togethers, not just to watch a sporting event, but as an opportunity to share the Gospel, calling them "Matthew Parties" instead. In considering "Matthew Parties", we should begin by looking in the Book of Matthew.      In the Book of Matthew Jesus told a parable about the kingdom of heaven being like ten virgins, five wise and five foolish, who had lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. In t...

The Heart of the Matter*

The Church seems to be seeking to treat the symptoms of troubling issues, rather than the root causes. We need to know the root causes if we are to treat and heal. One of the greatest examples of this is the fact that believers are placing their trust in men and politics, rather than God, but the Word of God says: "It is better to put trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man...than to put confidence in princes...The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly....The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Ps. 118:8-9, 14-15, 22-24). The cornerstone of the house of worship is not popular music or worldly ways; it is not the tolerance of sin in ...
